As we have come to mark a year of adjusting to the limitations of this pandemic, I would like to thank you for your faith, perseverance and fortitude. We have been so blessed to have been able to continue worship virtually and even grow as a congregation during this time.

I know we have all missed worshipping together. I feel that loss profoundly as your Pastor. However, I have witnessed such acts of faith and love during the pandemic as members took active roles in caring for one another, the amazing work of Kerstin and Nate Green in setting up our virtual service, and the continual generosity of everyone as a whole.

As restrictions are loosened, I want to invite you home to St. Matthew for Easter Worship on Sunday, April 4.

8:00 a.m. Easter Sunrise Worship Service– Join us in worship as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord

10:00 a.m. Egg Hunt (toddler through grade 5)- The starting point is classroom 103. Children will be released by age, youngest to oldest. The hunt will be either in the courtyard or in the auditorium depending on weather conditions.

10:25 a.m.- Butterfly release- Once the children are finished hunting for eggs, we will meet in the courtyard for the butterfly release, rain or shine. Everyone who wants to participate will be given a live butterfly in an envelope. After a brief devotion, we will open the envelopes and release the butterflies!

10:45 a.m. Easter Celebration Worship Service- Join us in worship as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord with special music.

Will things look different? Certainly. We are still recommending that you mask. There is requested social distancing. Hand sanitizer and masks are available at church for anyone who might need them.

The 10:45 a.m. service will continue to be live streamed on Facebook if you are still uncomfortable attending in person and we rejoice in seeing your comments each Sunday. We encourage you to start a watch party so those who are without a church service themselves to be included in this special worship service.

Please know that the grace of God remains visible in our community of faith, and that the vitality of our congregation continues during this unexpected and challenging time. Together, let us seek to discover the new things God is doing in our midst. We hold all of you in our prayers, and we request your prayers as well.

The Children’s Choir led by Shelly Bettenhausen will be singing during worship services this Spring!
